The Blog Sub-Committee 20/21

Content Coordinator

Hey guys! My name is Lauryn Corcoran. I am the new content coordinator for the MPS blog this year and I am so excited to get started. My role as content coordinator is mainly to plan the content that will go up on the blog. I will be posting a weekly list of blog titles onto the MPS blog crew facebook page that any budding writers can choose from. I am most certainly not a writer, as you will probably be able to tell from this blog post. I am here mainly to help generate ideas and to be a means of communication between anybody who would like to submit a blog post and the blog sub-committee.

I am currently a first year student studying communication studies but this is my second year of college (primary school teaching was not for me!) This change in course has left me with a drastic drop off of contact hours which I am so grateful for as it gives me the opportunity to take a more active part in college and society life. I definitely found myself spending far too much money joining far too many societies at the beginning of the semester, definitely reliving my fresher days! If anyone wants to be added to the blog crew facebook group and take part in the blog this year, or if anyone has any of their own ideas for blog posts message me on facebook or instagram (@lauryn.corcoran). We always love to get new writers involved!

Editor

Dia daoibh, everybody! My name’s Sinéad Mooney. I’m a second year Communications student, and more importantly, the new Editor of the MPS Blog! If you write and send in a blog post, I’m the one who’ll be giving it a look-over to check for grammar, spelling, readability, and all that jazz. Some of my interests include media (obviously), music, theatre, creative writing, and colour coordination.

I’m so excited to see the Blog get up and running for the year! In my opinion, the Blog is such a special little gem of MPS; it’s so easy and fun to contribute to, and you have the freedom to write about...pretty much anything. Yes, anything! So, whether you’re a habitual writer or just looking to give it a shot, I can’t recommend writing a post for the Blog enough-- you can even choose to write anonymously, if you’d prefer. We would absolutely love to hear from all of you!

If you’re interested, definitely request to join the MPS Blog Crew page on Facebook! It’s a great place to touch base with other people curious about the Blog and to get some inspiration for topics to take on. I eagerly look forward to editing all of your lovely posts! <3
